How to Setup MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) provides an extra layer of login security.
Students and employees will be prompted to set up MFA upon logging into their account for the first time. You will see a screen that says "more information required" click next to proceed. Then you will see a screen that says "Keep your account secure." At this point you can either choose to download the Microsoft Authenticator on your phone (Recommended) or you can select "I want to set up a different method" and choose phone from the dropdown list. Follow the prompts to complete the set up.
After you have enrolled in MFA you will be prompted to authenticate when you login to Email or other MFA-enabled services online.
To add or change authentication methods for MFA, go to: https://aka.ms/mfasetup
You should setup at least two of the MFA options, though it is recommended that you setup ALL of the options, if possible:
- Text to mobile device
- Phone call to desk phone
- Phone call to mobile phone
- Authenticator app on mobile device
