Training and Education Resources
Election workers must attend a yearly paid training session as part of their initial preparation. This depends on any new laws or changes to Vote Center procedures adhering to Texas Election Code. The SOS offers additional training which provides a general overview of election procedures and is not county specific. Below are State Resources which you may find useful.

KaylaDeSoto High School Senior

Students aged 16 or older, enrolled in public, private, or homeschooled high schools, with consent from their principal or parent/guardian, can serve as election clerks. Written authorization from the parent/guardian is required. This program enhances students’ understanding of the electoral process, empowering them to assist local election officials at polling places on Election Day under the guidance of the presiding judge.
